My Little Pony Red Velvet Cake
The circumstances under which I was asked to make this cake were very particular and very cute! Here’s the little story behind this cake:
Some of you might recall that I agreed to make my best friend’s wedding cake last month. My very first wedding cake. Ever. After lots of hard work and stress, it came out exactly as expected and I was really happy with the final result.
So, here we were, on the wedding day. I was the maid of honor for my friend so I was sitting at the honor table during dinner. At some point during the night, as my best friend was walking around the reception hall with her husband to thank everyone for coming, two little (lovely) girls, sisters, about 5 and 7, come running to me, giving me a hug and telling me how I “looked like a princess” and how they really liked me. Note: it was the very first time I’ve seen these two little girls. Their parents joined them a few minutes later and told me “we don’t know what you did to them, they really love you!”. They were so cute and affectionate, it really was adorable!
Fast forward during the night, they come to see me again and my fiancé and I start dancing and playing with them. At the end of the night, they found out that I was the one who made the wedding cake! Surprise surprise!
Their mom told me it was one of the girl’s birthday next month and that she would love for me to make her birthday cake. So, last week, her mom contacted me for the cake! The request: a red velvet cake, with cherries, on a My Little Pony theme. With a rainbow. Pretty specific, right?!
So here it is, as requested by a very special little customer! Happy to say she really liked it! To many more!
