Vanilla Cake with Almond Swiss Meringue Buttercream
So....the idea of starting a blog came more or less at the same time that I was contemplating creating a website to showcase my sweet creations. As I was baking and decorating my cakes, came the idea of taking beautiful pictures in order to, eventually (who knows?!) have my very own website. So this day has finally come (with some help - thank you to all the amazing people in my life who helped me realize this dream, you know who you are!💕).
So now let’s get to the point. This Vanilla Cake is my very first attempt at a ....vanilla cake! My best friend is getting married this summer and has asked me to do her wedding cake. Crazy, I know. Let’s not get into that! But so exciting!!! After a few trials, she finally told me her fiancé and her wanted a simple vanilla cake. So here I was, browsing the internet and looking into my (very numerous) cookbooks in order to come up with the most tasty recipe.
This cake is therefore just a trial in order to find out if it tastes like the best vanilla cake there is out there. But when you bake a cake, you can’t just make it plain and boring...might as well take this opportunity to practice your cake decorating skills. So here I was, at 7:30 on a Saturday morning, baking a cake...The urge to create doesn’t wait, so it seems!
